Jackie Robinson/Martin Luther King Signed Baseball in Display Case

Starting bid: $18,000.00

I received this awesome piece from SF Giants teammates when I retired. My first number in the major leagues and with the Giants was #42 and so they knew that Jackie Robinson had a special connection for me. I quit wearing #42 when MLB retired it and I still have my last #42 jersey hanging proudly in my shed signed by Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.

I received this awesome piece from SF Giants teammates when I retired in 2006. Beyond the history of having two of the arguably most important American civil rights activists sign this ball, my loose connection to Jackie Robinson through his now retired #42 jersey number gave this item a special place in my heart. My first number in the major leagues and with the Giants was #42.I quit wearing #42 when MLB retired it for the entire league (thought I still have my last #42 jersey hanging proudly in my shed signed by Willie Mays and Hank Aaron).  But this auction is for the ball.  Did I mention it has Martin Luther King Junior’s autograph too?
